Bob worked as a professional carpenter and woodworker
for 35 years. He began creating scroll saw portraits in 2001. The
process requires both art and craft. Each portrait begins with a photo.
A pattern is created from the picture and adapted for the cutting
process. The process of pattern requires time and patience as
details of the subject must be maintained and each piece must be
connected. His years of woodworking experience have make it
possible for him to cut intricate and detailed portraits. The time spent
to cut each portrait depends on the complexity of the pattern.
Bob has been an active member of the Soldier
Portraits, donating his time to create patterns and cut custom portraits
for the families of soldiers killed in action since 2001.
